UQ Hacky Hour - Genomics

23 Mar 2018
The idea of HackyHour is that researchers who’d like assistance with their research IT can come along and ask questions or you can also just come down and work on whatever you’re working on, in the company of other researchers who are into computing. Typical questions are around: getting started with Python and R, software tools, how to access high performance computing, cloud data storage and tools for data cleaning and data visualisation.
Research computing can be hard! It's made even worse when you don't have anyone to talk to and ask questions. Hacky Hours are here to help. We're aiming to make a community of people interested in doing better science. Sometimes a problem that you've been wrestling with for days can be solved by 5 minutes talking to the right person. The aim is to establish a broad community of "the right people" so you don't have to be alone with your problems.
