ALSWH is a collaborative project conducted by the University of Queensland and the University of Newcastle incorporating over 58,000 Australian women in four cohorts - born 1989-95, 1973-78, 1946-51 and 1921-26. ALSWH assesses women’s physical and mental health, as well as psychosocial aspects of health (such as socio-demographic and lifestyle factors) and their use of health service through surveys administered either annually (1989-95 cohort) or every 3 years (all other cohorts). The Study is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, and further information (surveys, databooks etc.) as well as information on how to access data is available from the Study website.
Data collection commenced in 1996 and is ongoing. Current funding is until 30/06/2016.
